Police in Gloucester Township shut down a large pool party event with loud music and over 100 attendees.
Officers responded to Poplar Avenue around 9:22 p.m. Sunday in the Blenheim section of Gloucester Township for several calls related to a large pool party with loud music.
Police found the resident had over 100 people attending a pool party at a home in a residential neighborhood. Officers found numerous vehicles parked throughout the neighborhood. The homeowner had a hired security agency to work the pool party event.
Police determined the party was creating a major disturbance and closed it down. Neighboring mutual aid police agencies had to be called in to assist with dispersing the partygoers.
The party organizer was issued local ordinance citations for noise violation and maintaining a nuisance. The homeowner and party organizer have been charged with zoning violations from the Gloucester Township zoning officer for home occupations involving commercial enterprise.
