Newark police say a reported abduction turned out to be a misunderstanding.
Police had asked for the public's help after a woman was seen being put into a car at Mulberry Street and Edison Place on Saturday.
Following media reports, the woman went to police herself to say she was OK.
According to police, the woman had been mad at her boyfriend for being late picking up her from the train. At first she wouldn't get into his van.
When she forgave him, police say the boyfriend got out of the car, picked her up, and put her in the vehicle.
Police say their investigation is closed.
