A hit-in-run involving a drunk driver left a Wildwood woman in critical condition over the weekend.

Police say 21-year-old Elijah Bethel was drunk behind the wheel when he plowed into an intersection in Middle township, hit a woman and then fled the scene.

The woman was rushed to an emergency room. Authorities say she is currently in critical condition but is expected to pull through.

Bethel faces multiple charges including DWI and assault with an automobile.
