Authorities say Arthur Morgan III, the man wanted in connection with the death of his 2-year-old daughter, has been captured in San Diego, Calif.
After an intense eight-day manhunt, U.S. marshals captured Morgan more than 3,000 miles away from his home.
He has been accused of murdering his toddler daughter, Tierra Morgan-Glover. Her body was found still strapped to a car seat in a creek in Shark River Park last Tuesday.
News 12 New Jersey has learned that Tierra?s mother, Imani Benton, had been trying to get an order of protection against Morgan. She says now that Morgan has been captured, her daughter hasn't died in vain.
Benton also told News 12 New Jersey that it was very hard to get help when she left Tierra's father, who she says was abusing her.
Benton and her family say they hope that someone can benefit from their misfortune.
