A police officer was forced to shoot a man to end a hostage situation in Wayne.
Police say a man barricaded himself inside a home on Redwood Avenue just before 1 a.m. Saturday morning.
When authorities arrived, they say a 27-year-old man was holding a 60-year-old woman in a chokehold while holding a large butcher knife.
Officials say the standoff lasted for hours before they were forced to shoot and wound the man.
