Police: 22-year-old Delaware man fatally shot in head in Yonkers

Police say a 22-year-old man, from Delaware, was fatally shot in the head in Yonkers early Sunday morning.

Police say a 22-year-old man, from Delaware, was fatally shot in the head in Yonkers early Sunday morning.
They say the shooting took place around 5 a.m. on Bronx River Road.
Police say the man died at a nearby hospital. They say the block of Bronx River Road between Yonkers and Sherwood will be closed until further notice while they continue gathering evidence.
Juan Devalle says there is still blood on his doorstep at the corner of Bronx River Road and Sherwood Avenue. He says he was awakened when police knocked on his door. Neighbors tell News 12 they didn't hear any gunshots.
Yonkers police is asking anyone with information to call the detective division at 914-377-7724. All tips are confidential.
