Major repairs are finally completed in Belmar, nearly five years after Superstorm Sandy devastated much of the Jersey Shore.

Belmar Mayor Matt Doherty will cut the ribbon Monday, officially reopening the John Taylor Pavilion.

Belmar was one of the first shore towns to replace its boardwalk after the storm. But it has taken years to approve, plan, pay for and then build the pavilion that was destroyed in the storm.

The pavilion will be where the Borough of Belmar operates its beach headquarters, concessions and events.

Before Superstorm Sandy, Belmar had five pavilions but decided plans called for the rebuilding this one and the Howard Rowland pavilion on 10th Avenue.
