Paterson is getting greener by adding a series of new community gardens.

The gardens are full of native plants that will hopefully attract birds and bees.

Several of the gardens are located outside fire stations.

Officials hope they will beautify the city while creating new community spaces.

The gardens are a partnership between the city, county and a non-profit.

The gardens are open to the public.
