Owner of dogs found in deplorable conditions charged
The New Jersey SPCA has filed criminal charges against the owner of dozens of dogs found in deplorable conditions in a Lakewood home.
Laura Giancini, 50, has been charged with multiple counts of failure to provide a living creature with necessary care.
Earlier in May, animal control officers came to the home on Spruce Street and found the dogs living in filth. The home was covered in feces and dogs were living in the walls, according to the investigation.
The home was condemned by the town and is scheduled to be demolished.
Giancini is scheduled to appear in court on June 11 to face the charges.
