Other shoe drops for New Jersey footwear chain
Marty's Shoes, the New Jersey-based discount footwear chain, has filed for bankruptcy and is closing all of its 47 stores.
The announcement has left employees wondering where they'll find a job and customers unsure where to continue their shoe shopping.
"There's no other discount place around," says shopper Barbara Meyer.
The upside for consumers is the chain-wide clearance savings the store is offering. Shoppers can save as much as 60 percent as the stores try to empty their shelves as soon as possible.
Marty's is based in Secaucus. Its North Jersey stores aren't slated to close until early next month.
