The Women's Campaign School at Yale University offered a one-day class for women with a passion for politics in Danbury.
The class is sponsored by Fairfield County's Community Foundation which focuses on advancing economic security of women and girls in Fairfield County.
A boot camp for women was held Saturday to learn the next steps to make the decision to launch their political careers.
This class helps them decide if they can make a commitment to public office, especially now when women are in politics more than ever before.
Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz is hoping to inspire more women to run for office and manage campaigns, whether it's at the local, state or federal level.
"Here in Connecticut, only 27% of our legislators are women. In United States Congress it's 25%, so we have a lot of work to do," said Bysiewicz.
The Women's Campaign School at Yale University also offers a one-week class in June to help women continue their political careers.
