According to officials, 20,000 DWI convictions and penalties in New Jersey may be tossed out.
A judge ruled Friday that a state trooper's failure to calibrate a breathalyzer test calls into question the validity of the results.
The tests in question were administered by Sgt. Marc Dennis between 2009 and 2016.
The officer faces charges for third-degree tampering.
