Official: House fire in Newark leaves man dead, 2 more people injured

A fire in Newark has left a man dead and two other people injured.

A fire in Newark has left a man dead and two other people injured.
Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose says that the fire began just after 12:30 p.m. Thursday on the 400 block of Roseville Avenue inside a three-story building. Ambrose says that it took more than 55 firefighters to get the fire under control.
A man was found unresponsive on the second floor of the home. Another man and woman were taken to University Hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
The fire was under control just before 2 p.m.
Four people were displaced because of the fire. The cause is under investigation.
