? Students at one New Jersey college are planning a rally against state budget cuts, which they believe will hurt the school?s credibility along with its bottom line.

Administrators at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) laid off at least two full-time employees Monday in anticipation of Governor Jon Corzine?s (D-NJ) budget cuts, according to the school. Students say the employees were dorm managers who also served vital roles as advisors to students. NJIT junior Monica Kalra believes the cuts will lead to college-bound New Jersey residents heading out of state for a better education. NJIT senior Supreet Bindra is concerned about the alleged increase in funding for sports, but the cuts in staff. Students plan to rally against the decision on Monday.

The school?s president released a memo on the NJIT Web site last week in anticipation of proposed cuts to public institutions.
