Full train service has resumed on the Morris and Essex Line and Montclair-Booton Line after a person was struck Friday morning by a New Jersey Transit train, officials said.
The lines were suspended to and from New York Penn Station and Hoboken after a person was hit by a train near the Broad Street Station, NJ Transit officials said.
NJ Transit spokesman Jim Smith said the unidentified man was pinned between a retaining wall after he was struck and was later freed. He was taken to University Hospital in Newark. His condition was not released.
Smith said the man was trespassing near the tracks.
Service resumed just before 8 a.m. NJ Transit officials said commuters should expect delays of up to 90 minutes in both directions on each line. NJ Transit Rail passes and tickets were being cross-honored by NJ Tranit Bus, DeCamp Bus and Lakeland Bus.
Commuters are urged to check NJTransit.com for updates.
The incident Friday was the third on the tracks this week that caused service delays.
