NJ Transit line back on schedule after car carrier strikes train bridge
The Main-Bergen County line of New Jersey Transit is back on schedule following an accident Tuesday night when a car carrier hit a train bridge in Rutherford.

The Main-Bergen County line of New Jersey Transit is back on schedule following an accident Tuesday night when a car carrier hit a train bridge in Rutherford.
The accident happened Tuesday around 8:30 p.m. near the area of Route 17 and Railroad Avenue.
According to a transit spokesman, the driver of the car carrier hit the bridge, causing one of the cars to catch on fire.
The spokesman says 200 people were in a train traveling on the tracks, but were not injured.
The train was evacuated and all passengers made it to their destinations.
NJ Transit checked the bridge and said trains can travel across it at full speed.
