Some New Jersey mothers celebrated their day of recognition with tea and a historic tour of Liberty Hall.
The house, which was home to New Jersey's first elected governor, William Livingston, was built back in 1772 and hosts authentic teas throughout the year. The last person to live in the home was Mary Alice Kean, a relative of former Gov. Tom Kean. Mary Alice Kean frequently invited people to Liberty Hall to enjoy tea and finger sandwiches, which sparked the organization to host the Mother's Day event.
"What makes this tea even more special is the rich history of women that have passed through this house and also had tea in the very same room," TK says.
In addition to the tea, those in attendance were also given a tour of the home. Authentic teas are offered at Liberty Hall each Wednesday.
