The National Football League became the latest New Jersey employer to lay off workers Wednesday.
The NFL says it is permanently cutting 169 jobs, or 15 percent of its staff, through buyouts, layoffs and other staff reductions. The move affects the NFL headquarters in New York, NFL Films in Mount Laurel and the NFL Network.Commissioner Roger Goodell is also taking a 20 percent pay cut due to the recession. He and other league executives are also freezing their salaries for this year.
The NFL first announced it would lay off workers Dec. 9.
