Newark cancels hundreds of flights due to snow
Delays and cancelations at Newark Liberty International Airport meant that motorists weren?t the only travelers affected by Friday?s winter storm.
While about 900 flights did take off, another 340 were canceled due to the weather. Delays for the flights that weren?t canceled were as long as seven hours.
Constant snow for over 10 hours left more than 5 inches of snow at the Newark airport. Transportation officials say domestic trips were affected more than international flights.
Flyer Evangeline Crittenden was stuck halfway between Dublin and San Francisco. ?I?m pretty stranded,? she said.
