Newark's beings day two of its 10-day stay at home order on Thanksgiving Day.
The lockdown officially went into effect at 8 p.m. Wednesday night.
Newark is instituting restrictions, including curfews in parts of the city, and setting specific hours that nonessential businesses and restaurants have to close by.
Mayor Ras Baraka is asking that residents shelter in place for 10 days, and celebrate Thanksgiving with only people living in the same household.
