New York Mets employees gave away Thanksgiving turkeys Thursday at the Agape Food Rescue in East New York.
Organizers say they gave out more than 500 turkeys to families throughout the city.
"One of our mottos is ‘Pay it forward’,"  says Kilita Redmond, of Agape Food Rescue. "We hope that in the future that they would do what we're doing for them. It doesn't have to be in the same capacity, but they give back."
Redmond says the food pantry will be open for people to pick up anything they might need to cook for the holiday.
Organizers say each family will also receive ticket vouchers so that they can choose a Mets game to attend during the 2018 season.
