Union City police swore in new Chief Bryan Barrett today after a Kane in Your Corner investigation led to the resignation of his predecessor, Chief Charles Everett.
The Kane in Your Corner investigation revealed that Everett was paid $60 per hour for a no-show security job. Union City Mayor Brian Stack says he thinks Barrett will restore public trust in the department.
News 12 New Jersey spoke with the incoming chief about how he plans to lead the department. Barrett says he does not want to dwell on the past but rather look to the future and lead the department in the right direction.
