Many New Jersey residents were out and about Friday enjoying the snow one day after a blizzard dropped over a foot onto parts of the Garden State.

Thursday’s snowstorm dropped 18 inches of snow on Brick Township, the most in the state. Other spots saw anywhere from 3 to 17 inches of snow, depending on the area.

But strong winds continued Friday, which made the post-storm dig-out that more difficult.

“The wind’s blowing the snow back on to the street. Especially the driveway. I’ve done the driveway three times. It keeps blowing back in,” says Howell resident Matt Keating.

Hundreds of schools were closed for a second day Friday, so many Howell students took to the hills to do sledding.

News 12 New Jersey ran into one family who may have been responsible for Thursday’s storm.

“We’re up here from Georgia, visiting family for the holidays,” the unidentified Georgia resident said. “We actually wished for a blizzard, so I guess you guys can blame us for it.”

Although temperatures were below the freezing mark for the 11th day in a row in New Jersey, many of the kids said that they had a blast on the hill.
