OSHA has cited an ice cream maker in Lakewood after two workers had to have their fingers amputated after working on the same machine.
Fieldbrook Foods Corporation is facing over $237,000 in fines.
The first incident happened in 2018 when a sanitation worker lost one finger and fractured another when his fingers got caught while repairing the jammed equipment.
The second incident happened just last year when a maintenance mechanic lost two fingers while repairing an ice cream wrapper machine.
OSHA found the incidents happened because the company chose not to shut down the machine during repair work.
The company employs about 200 workers in Lakewood.
