A New Brunswick elementary school is celebrating its centennial.
The first cornerstone for Roosevelt Elementary School was laid in 1919. Students and faculty held a centennial gala Wednesday afternoon.
A vintage classroom and other artifacts from the 1900s were on display as part of the celebration.
"We have a lot of history in this building. We have a lot of alumni that have come back to our centennial gala and we've also had former teachers return to be part of our gala,” says principal Georgette Gonzalez.
The school kicked off celebrations in January with a centennial carnival.
