The first ShopRite in South Brunswick is expected to open in November, and is looking to hire hundreds of employees.

The new ShopRite will be located at the Heritage Square Shopping Center on Route 1 in the Monmouth Junction section, near Target, PetSmart and Bob's Discount Furniture.  

According to the township, construction is ongoing at the 79,068 square-foot store.

The store has been hosting job fairs this month.

The opening ends a long journey that started with the store’s approval back in 2013 and included a lawsuit from the owners of a mall nearby.
