Officials say more charges are expected for the man accused of theft and kidnapping this weekend.
A city spokesperson says the victim asked the man to watch her car with her baby inside while she was away Saturday in Jersey City.
City officials say he took off and that's when she called police.
The suspect led officers on a short chase.
He crashed the car and was arrested shortly after.
Other cars were apparently involved in the accident but only minor injuries have been reported.
