If you're planning on hitting the road for the holiday weekend, anticipate traffic. AAA says this will be the most traveled Memorial Day weekend the country has seen since 2019.
Almost 945,000 New Jersey residents will drive to their destinations — about 91% of those traveling for the holiday weekend, according to AAA.
Travelers can expect a busy traffic day today with peak travel times from noon to 7 p.m.

Holiday rush at airports expected to cause delays

If you're looking to avoid traveling on the roads and heading for the skies, experts say it’s not going to be much better at airports. The Federal Aviation Administration reports today will be the busiest day for air travel since 2019.
Tracy Noble, a spokesperson AAA Club Alliance, advises travelers to pack their patience.
“Get there extra early that way you're not rushing around. Have your documents ready and download that airline app that way if there's changes to your flight time or your gate, you know immediately,” Noble suggests.
