Police and first responders held a practice drill in Tinton Falls to practice their response in the event of a mass shooting.
Dozens of police officers, medics and SWAT teams stormed the Jersey Shore Premium Outlets in a simulation of real events that have played out across the country in recent years.
Officials say the training exercises take months of planning, but provide valuable training tools for all involved.
They say it is important for the various agencies to train together because in the event of a mass shooting all municipalities responding will have to work together quickly.
In the wake of last weekend's tragic shooting in Orlando, the training comes as a sober reminder of the importance of such training.
