Officials say the Manasquan Reservoir in Howell is one of several bodies of water in New Jersey impacted by algae.
According to officials, the blooms can be dangerous if a person’s body touches them.
Officials are assuring residents the drinking water is safe -- for towns that use the reservoir.
Record setting rainfall over the past year is one of the factors creating the blooms.
