Police say a man was terrorized with a gun laser before being brutally pistol-whipped by an attacker while walking in Elmwood Park this week.
According to authorities, the victim and a friend were walking near Elmwood Village Apartments when they noticed the laser. The man was then struck with a handgun several times in the face and head.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment and sent home.
Police Chief Don Ingrasselino says his detectives are investigating the attack as possible gang activity. The attacker is still on the loose.
