A man armed with a knife inside a home in Bloomfield was shot by police who were responding to a domestic violence call Friday morning, authorities say.
The incident occurred along Greenbrook Drive in a townhouse development.
When officers arrived at the home, they say they found a woman who had been stabbed and a man armed with a knife. The director of public safety in Bloomfield says, "after a confrontation with the officers, two shots were fired and the individual was struck."
One of the officers fired both shots. Both the man and woman were taken to the hospital. The woman is in stable condition. The man's condition was not immediately clear.
There was no children inside the home at the time of the shooting.
