Man killed in Irvington house fire

One person was killed in an overnight house fire in Irvington. The fire broke out in a home on the 200-block of 21st Street just after 3:30 a.m. Tuesday. The three-story house was believed to be abandoned.

One person was killed in an overnight house fire in Irvington.
The fire broke out in a home on the 200-block of 21st Street just after 3:30 a.m. Tuesday. The three-story house was believed to be abandoned.
While fighting the fire, firefighters found the badly burned body of a man. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is not known at this time.
Fire officials tell News 12 New Jersey that three firefighters suffered minor injuries while fighting the fire.
The Essex County prosecutor is investigating, along with the Irvington police and fire departments.
