The Woodbridge man accused of fatally stabbing a woman and barricading himself inside his home Monday has died from gunshot wounds inflicted after SWAT teams entered his house.
According to police, Rodney Jencsik fatally stabbed Dina Marie Heil and seriously injured a man in Old Bridge. Authorities say Jencsik and Heil were dating at the time of the incident.
Police say he then barricaded himself inside his house on Freddie Avenue in the Avenel section of Woodbridge. Jencsik was wounded in gunfire after SWAT teams entered the home at around 7:30 p.m.
Friends of Jencsik told News 12 that he had concerns as early as a week ago about Heil possibly being with another man. A second person, a man, was also stabbed and seriously injured during the incident on Englishtown Road in Old Bridge.
