A state of emergency has been declared in Little Falls after a storm left two feet of water which created several inches of mud during Saturday’s storms.
Commencing immediately, the Jackson Park area of town will be closed, with the only access point being Jackson Avenue. Access will be restricted to residents and authorized personnel only.
The parking of vehicles on the following streets is prohibited until the state of emergency is lifted:
Hopson Avenue, Jackson Street, Harrison Street, Ryle Avenue, Madison Street, Oak Place, Willow Avenue, Cedar Street, Van Pelt Place, Grey Street and Dewey Avenue.
Officials are asking residents to remove all vehicles from the streets so they won’t interfere with the maintenance and cleaning of the roadways. If vehicles are left in the roadway, they will be towed.
Residents are asked contact 911 for any emergencies and 973-256-0200 for non-emergencies.
