Thunderstorms rocked Union County Friday, causing some lightning strikes.
Fire officials say New Providence High School was struck by lightning, causing a fire alarm to go off.
There was no fire or damage to the school.
Demarest police say a contractor was struck by lightning while he was working at a residence on Knickerbocker Road. They say he was taken to the hospital by a co-worker.
The two lightning strikes come after a DPW worker was struck just two days ago at a Woodbridge Township Middle School. He's still undergoing treatment for burns.
