Beachgoers were warned by lifeguards this past weekend that needles have been found washed up along the Jersey Shore.
Following the recent storms, the syringes have been found from Sandy Hook to Long Branch. Officials say during heavy rain, sewage is released from systems bordering the New York Harbor.
The needles are likely connected to diabetics who flushed their used items down the toilet.
