Twenty-four girls from the Jersey Shore Girl Scouts group were honored on Wednesday.

The girls earned the highest and most prestigious award -- the Girl Scout Gold Award.

The group earned it by spending more than 2,000 hours doing good in their communities, which tackled everything from creating mental health spaces for students on high school campuses to fighting domestic violence

A ceremony was held at the Spring Lake Shore Club where the girls received their pins and certificates.
