House of Independents announces initial summer lineup following temporary closure due to flooding damage
An Asbury Park music venue that was badly damaged by flooding in September announced its initial summer concert lineup a week after announcing the venue would reopen.
House of Independents posted on X, the website formerly known as Twitter, 16 dates of events that will be taking place so far – the first one being The Latin Social Brunch on June 9.
There will also be a Taylor Swift dance party event on June 21, a celebration of the K-pop group BTS on June 22, the horror-comedy puppet show Puppeteers for Fears on July 2 and Albany-based band Prince Daddy & the Hyena will be playing July 9.
The venue says that more shows will be announced.
The flooding caused $500,000 in damages. House of Independents owners initially said that the venue would be closing for good. It initially closed following the Sept. 29 storm.
On April 10, the venue posted on X, “See you in the Summer! House of Independents 2.0 now loading.”
