Gov. Phil Murphy says he expects a few more weeks of social distancing, saying New Jersey can't rush to reopen things, including schools.

Gov. Phil Murphy says he expects a few more weeks of social distancing, saying New Jersey can't rush to reopen things, including schools.

Extra protective measures will be considered when classes do get back in session.
"We are not going to reopen the schools back up until we are convinced by science medical professionals that doing so would be safe for students, staff and families,” says Gov. Murphy. “Even when we get to a point that we believe reopening is safe, we will get there. We won’t hesitate face coverings, reconfiguring of classrooms, if we believe that by doing so it would make schools safer."
