Olympic soccer star Heather O'Reilly showed off her gold medal to hundreds of fans Saturday in East Brunswick.
Like most kids, O'Reilly started out playing recreational soccer in New Jersey. She began honing her skills at Heavenly Farms in East Brunswick as an 8-year-old playing for a team called the Dynamites.
And now her old team is cheering her on.
"We feel like maybe we could grow up like her because she was part of the Dynamites," says one player.
O'Reilly says the most amazing part of her journey was when she received her gold medal in Beijing.
"To see the American flag raised [was] an amazing moment - very prideful moment for me," she says.
