A formerly homeless man is now volunteering at Eva's Kitchen in Paterson as part of his attempt to turn his life around.
As a 12-year-old, Ron Moulgrie lost his arm to a shotgun and went on to spend 34 years in and out of prison. About three years ago, Moulgrie decided that he would start a new life as an addiction counselor. He now also has his own home.
Sen. Bob Menendez says he believes the lack of affordable housing is hindering people from moving forward.
According to a study by NJ Counts, more than 10,000 people in the state are considered homeless this year.
