The Norwalk Senior Center is hosting its second annual “FORE the seniors” golf tournament at Oak Hills Golf Course.
The center is busy with all programs going back to being in person once again, including Meals on Wheels.
"We serve about 80 to 100 seniors in Norwalk, largely shut-ins that can't get out for whatever reason," says Executive Director Beatrix Lane.
Lane says being a nonprofit, more than half of the center's funding comes from donations.
The money raised from registration for the tournament and raffle tickets will help make a dent in the $100,000 needed to fund Meals on Wheels each year.
This year, any golfer who gets a hole-in-one will win a brand-new car.
"It brings the community together,” says one board chair in regard to the tournament. “It's an awareness thing."
Around 40 golfers are coming out to support the program this year.
