Heavy rains around the state flooded several streets and stranded motorists, including some in in Jersey City.
Tow trucks were called to Tonnelle Avenue to pull cars from the floodwater, which reached as high as the cement median.
No injuries were reported as a result, but the road was backed up for miles.
The weather also caused hundreds of flight delays and cancellations at Newark, LaGuardia and JFK airports.
