A list of nursing homes around the U.S. with major health issues has now been made public, and 11 of them are in New Jersey.
For years the federal government kept under wraps the names of hundreds of nursing homes around the country found by inspectors to have serious ongoing health, safety or sanitary problems.
On Monday, the secrecy began to crack as Sen. Bob Casey and Sen. Pat Toomey, both from Pennsylvania, released a previously undisclosed list of some 400 nursing homes where inspectors have found problems.
Here is the list of the New Jersey nursing homes:
The Wanaque Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation.

Millville Center.

Our Ladys Center for Rehabilitation & HC.

Care One at Evesham.

Riverside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Sterling Manor.

Waterview Center.

Summit Ridge Center.

Roosevelt Care Center at Old Bridge.

Newgrove Manor.

Riverfront Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
The lawmakers said the official silence calls into question the government's commitment to families going through the difficult process of finding a nursing home for a loved one.
They're asking the administration to publicly release the list and regularly update it.
The Trump administration says it's already providing Americans more information on nursing homes, and it's reviewing whether it can legally release the list.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services are putting the homes in what's called a "Special Focus Facility" program.
If they don't improve, they could be cut from federal programs.
