Family pool causes controversy between neighbors in Ridgefield
A family's pool is causing quite a bit of controversy in one Bergen County town. Joe DeGuilmo has lived in Ridgefield since 1973 and he says his house has been ruined. His neighbors, the Pappas family, built an $80,000 state-of-the-art swimming pool and DeGuilmo says it is illegal. Ridgefield town officials would not comment on the situation because of pending litigation. They did, however, say the Pappas family appears to have violated at least three town ordinances, including building a wall higher than six feet. Meanwhile, the Pappas family has been ordered to stay out of their pool and backyard. The next step in this battle will be July 20 when the two sides will head to Superior Court in Hackensack.
