A New Jersey family is mourning the loss of an 8-year-old boy who drowned at Bradley Beach Tuesday.
Trevon Taylor?s mother, Melinda Paris, said her son was cooling off with some friends in water waist high when he was pulled under by a rip current. Paris said her friend had been watching the group of boys at the time. Rescue efforts and an intensive search went on for 40 minutes.
Dozens of lifeguards helped in the search for Taylor. Divers ultimately found the boy?s body 60 feet away from where he had been swimming.
Taylor was preparing to enter the third grade at Bradley Beach Elementary School.
