Residents of Ocean and Burlington counties may hear loud explosions all this week due to explosive training being conducted at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.

All week long criminal investigators from the Army and Air Force will be trained on how to properly process explosions at a crime scene.

Officials from Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives say the training is for both foreign and domestic incidents. 

Michael Eldredge, an explosives enforcement officer with the ATF says that the training is important because criminals in the United States sometimes use explosives in their crimes. This type of training is a necessity.

The post-blast school includes basic lessons of explosives and goes into detail about the electrical components of the device.
