Everyday Heroes: CancerCare Paramus Walk
A Hawthorne woman took her family’s devastating loss and used the experience to help support others.
Trish Hoffman's husband Dan passed away in 2015 from Stage 4 colorectal cancer. Hoffman and her daughter Doria found tremendous support through an organization called CancerCare. The organization provides a variety of free services to help people manage the emotional, practical and financial challenges of cancer.
Hoffman is now giving back to the organization by helping others who have experienced similar losses.
She has helped plan the CancerCare Paramus Walk/Run for Hope for the last two years and her team “Hoff’s Hearts and Soles” has raised more than $10,000 for the cause.
The CancerCare Paramus Walk/Run for Hope is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 24 at Bergen Community College.
