Officials say emergency repairs could mean brown water or low water pressure for some Somerset and Hunterdon County residents.
New Jersey American Water needs to fix a leak at the Raritan-Millstone Water treatment plant.
The small leak was found Tuesday morning.
The change in the water color and pressure could last for 72 hours.
The company is asking customers not to use water outdoors and to conserve water inside their homes until further notice.
Customers in these towns might be effected:
Branchburg
Bridgewater
Bound Brook
Hillsborough
Manville
Millstone
Montgomery
Raritan Borough
Raritan Township
Readington
Somerville
South Bound Brook
